My Brother's Keeper is the remarkable true story about an unlikely friendship between a former Guantánamo detainee, Mohamedou Ould Salahi, and his one-time American prison guard, Steve Wood, who gradually became convinced of his innocence.
Mohamedou was held at Guantánamo Bay detention camp for 14 years and was subjected to extended periods of torture and isolation. He was accused of being a member of Al-Qaeda, but was never charged with a crime.
Two years after he was released, Mohamedou and Steve reunite in Nouakchott - a city perched on the edge of the Sahara - where they rekindle a friendship that profoundly changed their lives forever.
